But in general same best practices apply regardless of what type of network you are building. In an IoT network there are just different types of links to take into account. E.g. LoRa Radio, different local radio networks and so on.
fredrik I agree, different IoT Open sub systems have their typical standard for how to document etc. Professional installers using https://www.knx.org/knx-en/for-professionals/index.php use other methods than a private person using Ikea trådfri. In IoT Open, with metadata the support personal can usually see which Device a Function is associated with and what type of sub system eg. Z-Wave och LoRaWAN.
