Sensative Strip

Hello.
I have some Sensative strip (MS+Guard) that I want to use primarely for temperature. The problem is that it does´nt show temperature. I´ve checked the Workbench to see what it sends over mqtt, but the payload seems to contain everything else but the temp.
Sensative have an payload decoder that creates a payload depending on what you want it to send and I tried to copy that payload (Base64 encoded) to the downlink queue in Chirpstack but it does´nt seem to work...
Any ideas?

Can you post the undecoded payload from the sensor. It can be found in the payload-function in IoT Open.

When I open or close the door with a magnet, the payload msg is ffff0901 or ffff0900, depending on if the door is open or closed. If I make the strip send a heartbeat, the payload becomes longer, ffff6e0cbc3c7f130000000900.
I dont know if that was what you wanted to know?

Hello, probably the sensor is not set up to send temperature data. What you need to do is to configure the sensor and you do this by creating a settings profile at this page: https://strips-lora-config-app.service.sensative.net/profiles
and when you are done you get a datastring that you will have to send to the device on Downlink communication (you do this inside the Lora manager or what network server you are using to connect Lora devices) on channel 11 if I remember correctly.

As I mentioned in my first post, I have already tried that several times, with different settings, but it does´nt seem to work.
We have Chirpstack so it looks a little bit different, but the data is the same.
I have also tried to reset the strips, both by sending reset download payload (both on channel 10 and 11) and
with the magnet, but it seems impossible to get the strips to recieve the download payload.

I feel your frustration. These sensors are quite painfull to work with.
To get them to update I usualy touch the sensors with the battery 3 times slowly. It then blinks (if its not red it should work).

But in Chirpstack do you have any logs when you send the config?

And what do you see in Events or LoraFrames? (in chirpstack)
Do you get a confirmed Datadown?

And under events you should be able to see what fields chirpstack decoded before they are sent to IoT-Open

I had similar problems with Strips MS Drip. I didn't manage to make the sensor accept the downlink payload. When I used the manual method with the magnet (3 times on rounded edge).

To make it work I had to send downlink payload (Chirpstack) and then wait for the device (Class A) to do its regular uplink message. After that it accepted the downlink payload from Chirpstack.

Standard uplink message is like 24h I think, you could also maybe get it to work with a standard open/close with the magnet. So put downlink in queue the open/close with magnet.

Not sure why it didn't work with the manual method with the magnet that Sensative refers to.

If that doesn't work maybe next step is to talk with Sensative support.

I agree with tobianjonsson that these sensors are quite painfull to work with...
But I came up with another solution:
You send the downlink payload twice. First send the payload on port 11, confirmed and click "enqueue payload", then manual update the strip with the magnet three times on rounded edge. (It will blink three times telling you that it didn´t work.) Now simply do the procedure with enqueue the payload again.
I think it´s very strange, but for me it have worked everytime I send it twice.

Now when I think on it thats what I do as well. Do the manual update more than once without even checking if the first one went thrue.
