Reorganize the installations in IoTOpen

Hi, Been trying to reorganize my organizations and installations. but it was not very easy.

First of all i am trying to move an installation to another organization, how do i do that without deleting it. What I want to do next is to remove the organization. Is there any documentation I missed?

also, does the history get deleted if i move an installation to another org, and simmilarly does this happen if i move a device from one installation to another?

Hi! There should be no problem with that. Remember that you can only set the parent of an organization. So you have to navigate to the children and choose a new parent. All organizations below will follow its parent.

The installations will also follow and the history will be intact.

But if you want to move a device between installations the history will be lost since all data belongs to a installation.

Moving the installation can be done in the Settings menu for the installation by selecting a new parent in the Organization browser in the middle of the page.

As Marcus said, all history is kept together with the Installation. Devices will keep the history as long as they keep the same installation but will be empty if the device is moved to a new installation.

It seems that i can't change certain things even though im set as admin. Is there any super admin i'm not aware of. As you can see, these fields are blocked for me.

Most of these fields are non-changable. You can not set a new "Created" time for the installation. But organization is changed by selection in the browser under the "Expand all" button. Try choosing "Select" on an organization in the browser below.
