Lightweight connection in C++ with ESP32

Hi, I have a ESP32 and I am using the WiFi, WiFiClientSecure libraries and PubSubClient to connect with MQTT. However, this takes a large part of my flash memory. Is there a recommended more lightweight alternative (preferably with some sample code) that anyone has used?

I have successfully been using Eclipse Paho (https://github.com/eclipse-paho/paho.mqtt.c) but I don't know if is smaller than the one you are using. Also I have been running it on RP2040 and not ESP32. Implementing it was quite straight forward. The WiFi part was more complex in my application.
